If you missed Episode 86 live earlier tonight, you can listen to the recording here or simply use the embedded player below!

Episode 86 of Hunger Games Fireside Chat will air live this Monday, November 26, at 10pm ET/7pm PT! This week, our panel of experts will include Ellie from Down with the Capitol, Crystal from Mockingjay.net and FictionalFood.net, Tiffany from Victor’s Village, Natalie from Crushable, and Ariel of Nerdy, Wordy, and Almost Thirty.

– We’ll spend the first half of the episode talking about the Catching Fire motion poster, which was unveiled by Lionsgate last Tuesday! As always, let us know what you think in the comments, and we’ll try to share some of your thoughts during the show!

– At 10:30pm, we’ll chat with author V. Arrow about her new book, The Panem Companion. Leah Wilson, Editor-in-Chief of Smart Pop Books, will also join us. If you have any questions you’d like us to ask V., leave a comment here or send the questions to us in an email with the subject “Panem Companion.”

You can read our review of The Panem Companion here. For an exclusive District 1-themed excerpt and a chance to WIN a copy, click here.

Click the book cover to pre-order your copy from Amazon!

If there’s time remaining, we’ll pull some topics out of our grab bag! (Update: We pulled out one topic from Katie Ross which asked us why we think Haymitch didn’t want Katniss and Peeta to know about the planned arena escape.)

You can chat with other listeners throughout the live show by using our hashtag #HGFiresideChat on Twitter! We recommend TweetChat to easily follow along with the conversation.

  • The Vaultmaster says:

    Loving the motion poster!

Also I heard Sam Claflin’s arrived in Hawaii. Why do I feel like we’re closer to Catching Fire than we actually are?

  • José Torres says:

I was very excited to see the motion poster, its exactly like the teaser just smaller, and the contest that Lionsgate put about having your name in the credits for Catchin Fire just for sharing the logo was a bonus. I wonder how long its gonna take to reach 12 million shares.

    • José Torres says:

      *Catching (made a typo)^^^^ 🙂

  • I was completely astounded by the logo. Is it to dramatic for me to say I found my self breathless after seeing it? I loved the way the mockingjay pin logo lit into flames a crumbled into the Catching Fire logo. The music sent chills up my spine and back down again it was riviting. I love the tag line, I absolutely love and adore it. Every revolution begins with a spark. It makes me think of the conversation between President snow and Seneca crane in the movie where President snow tells seneca to contain the spark. I seriously think I cried when I saw it, I think my level of hope for Catching Fire shot up ten fold. I think I have watched it at least 30 t0 40 times, showed my whole family and all of my friends. I wish november 22 2013 would come faster, but its a wait worth taking.

  • Kasey V says:

Loved the Catching Fire Motion Picture! Shared it with all my friends and family, who loved it as well. It is amazing! I can’t even imagine how epic it was seeing logo reveal in theaters. Sooo are we there yet? 😀

    • Kasey V says:

      Meant motion poster…….. Tired. lol

  • Colin says:

I really like the motion poster/logo. The transformation was cool and suggests continuity with the first film. It is also very close to the book and keeps the clock design. I wonder if ithey regret having “The Hunger Games” logo on fire because the “Catching Fire” logo can’t catch fire.

  • please, please, PLEASE discuss the latest filming picture released!!! it can be seen on hypable.com or mockingjay.net! i love the show, and love listening to all of you, so hearing your reactions would be PHENOMENAL!!

    • Savanna says:

We will absolutely be talking about the set pics on next week’s show! As we predicted, even more have popped up online! Haha.

      • beachboy13ds says:

yay!!! super excited now for next week’s show! thanks!!

  • Grace says:

The motion poster actually took me by surprise. Maybe its because I’ve actually only ever seen one other motion poster in my life, but it really took me back. For one thing, the animation is amazingly good. I heard somewhere that Fire is one of the hardest things to animate, and the fire in the motion poster rocked.
Does anyone else think, though, that when the mockingjay’s change, it looks the slightest bit creepy? Its probably just me…..

  • Amdillae says:

The interview with V and Leah was great, I love the style of analysis I am finding in these books (I am now going to need to purchase a shelf of books from Smart Pop as early Christmas presents for myself). The answers to my question was perfect and covered everything and the pronunciation of my name was right (one of the disadvantages of using a Dungeons and Dragons character name on-line is the complexity of pronunciation for others.)

Oh and thank you for the point about the book vs movie cannon, two very different worlds and contexts.

    • Savanna says:

      So glad you enjoyed it!

  • Allison (The HungerJay) says:

you are not crazy, i hear the mockingjays now! the first logo is now even better

    • Savanna says:

      I’m glad I’m not crazy! 😉
