It’s a big, big, big day! After revealing the logo for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire before midnight screenings of Breaking Dawn – Part 2 last week, Lionsgate has now unveiled the Catching Fire motion poster! You’ll find it embedded at the bottom of this post — though we bet you’ll hear it before you see it. 😉

As if this news wasn’t exciting enough, Lionsgate is also launching a sweepstakes today. Here are the details from the official press release:

Lionsgate has officially unveiled the new logo for THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE in the form of a MOTION POSTER exclusively on the HUNGER GAMES Facebook page.

As a special thank you to all the Hunger Games fans, 12 lucky winners chosen at random from the Facebook page will be featured in the end credits of the film. Winners will be announced when the Facebook page hits 12 Million Total Fans.

Who hasn’t always dreamed of seeing their name in the credits of a movie!? This is your chance to make it onto the big screen. To enter, all you have to do is share the motion poster by clicking here: CatchingFireLogo.com

Here are step-by-step instructions to enter the contest since some people have been having trouble:
1. Go here: CatchingFireLogo.com
2. An app on the official Hunger Games Facebook page should load and you should see the motion poster. If you are not a fan of the page it will ask you to LIKE it, which everyone must do.
3. Scroll down past the motion poster. Look below the counter and below the text that says “A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO OUR HUNGER GAMES FANS.”
4. You should see big text that says “SHARE #THESPARK TO WIN.” There will be some social media buttons there, and you can click on those to share the motion poster. If you click on one of those social media buttons, an entry form should then appear in that area. There’s also a small link that says “Share Not Required – Skip.” You can click on that to open up the entry form as well. It will open up in that same area.

GOOD LUCK! And remember…every revolution begins with a spark.

Pretty , but that is unfair if you are a big fan of hunger games , but you don’t have a Facebook or twitter account. I sometimes feel you can’t be a good fan without have those two accounts . What do you think ?

    • Savanna says:

Maia: You could make a Facebook account SOLELY for the purpose of entering this contest and then never use it. You could just not fill out your profile info and make it totally private so that nobody will even be able to find it. And then you could delete your account after the winners are announced. Just a thought!

I get what Maia’s saying. Sure, we could create an account just for the sake of entering the contest, but that’s not the point. The point is, why should we have to in the first place? It does seem that for a lot of online fandoms these days (not just THG), much of the action takes place on FB and Twitter, and I don’t remember this being the case even a few years earlier (with Harry Potter), for example.

Some people have valid reasons not to want to FB or Tweet. And I agree that a lot of social media centered marketing winds up giving the impression that fans who don’t FB, Tweet, tumble, or whatever, are second-class fans. I realize that most of the major THG fansites have some kind of social media arm, but we don’t HAVE to be on FB or Twitter to comment on this page, for example. Or most of the major fansites.

Seems that, just as promotions in which you collect game pieces from merchandise
(like the McDonald’s Monopoly Game) but you can also send in that 3 x 5 card to get a game piece (I believe this is for legal reasons), there should be an alternate way to enter the contest without using FB.

I was just trying to be helpful since we have no way of changing the fact that the contest is being run through Facebook.

It definitely stinks for people who don’t have a Facebook account and don’t want to make/can’t make a temporary one for the sake of entering. I can pass on your feedback. They might be up for allowing non-social media-based entries in some of their future contests.

What entry form pops up? That didn’t happen for me. i’m confused on weather i entered or not?

Hm… I’ll write out some step-by-step instructions below. Hopefully they’ll help!
