Announcing Victory Tour 2013! Monday 10 September, 2012

Update – 10/24/12
Due to some legal issues, Victory Tour 2013 has been expanded to include some other “fan favorites” like the Divergent, Delirium, and Matched trilogies. The Hunger Games will obviously still be a main focus, but now more fandoms will have a chance to get involved!

If you were listening to tonight’s live show earlier, you’ve already heard the big news: The first-ever fan-run Hunger Games convention, Victory Tour 2013, is set to take place next summer in North Carolina!

From the official press release:

Victory Tour is a Hunger Games multi-fandom convention taking place in North Carolina in the summer of 2013, created by fans for fans. This convention will unite fans of all ages, though focusing on those 12 years and older, and will give them something to call their own.

You have Head Gamemaker Ellie of Down with the Capitol to thank for making this all happen! Nearly a dozen representatives from other fan sites are also part of the team working to bring Victory Tour 2013 to life.

But we need YOUR help! Starting at midnight on 10/25/12, Victory Tour 2013 will be accepting donations and offering exclusive rewards to those who donate. If you’re interested in being a donor, simply go to the Donation Rewards page at VictoryTour2013.com.

Different levels of donations will be available, [and rewards will include] convention merchandise and exclusive opportunities only available through donations. More rewards will also be added as special guests are confirmed. Donations will not include the opportunity to pre-purchase registrations, which was previously available through the Kickstarter.

A Kickstarter was originally launched on September 10, 2012, but was cancelled after a legal discussion regarding the convention.
