We Salute You, Gary! Tuesday 10 April, 2012

By now, you’ve all heard the news that Gary Ross will not be returning to direct Catching Fire due to the tight production schedule and his belief that he will not be able to produce a quality film — the film he wants and that we deserve — with such a small amount of prep time.

From the L.A. Times earlier tonight:

“Despite recent speculation in the media, and after difficult but sincere consideration, I have decided not to direct ‘Catching Fire.’ As a writer and a director, I simply don’t have the time I need to write and prep the movie I would have wanted to make because of the fixed and tight production schedule.”

We are absolutely devastated by this news, to say the least. Gary, if you’re reading this, we just want to let you know that we love you and — as much as it saddens us — support your decision. We will miss you greatly, but we’re so grateful that you were the one to bring The Hunger Games to life.

We urge all of you to go GaryRossIsBoss.com and leave comments on the open “thank you” post for Gary. You can also continue to submit videos, pictures, and messages for Gary.

Today I’ve cried a many tear
And pain is in my heart
Around me lies a somber scene
I don’t know where to start

But I feel warmth on my skin
The stars have all aligned
The wind has blown
But now I know
That tomorrow will be kinder

Its really sad that he’s not directing the next movie anymore. He did such an amazing with the hunger games. I couldn’t think of any better way to put the book onto the Screen the way he did! Hopefully, Lionsgate will hire some really great director this time too.

Yes that is very sad, but I hope they find someone good that will also do a great job Too!
