24 Advance Screenings for #HungerGames24! Wednesday 29 February, 2012

As you’ve probably noticed by now, Lionsgate has done something special for each “movie countdown milestone” we’ve hit. For #HungerGames100, they launched a massive puzzle hunt that led to the formation of a brand new poster. For #HungerGames74, Capitol Couture was revealed and we learned that advance tickets would go on sale on February 22. For #HungerGames50, 50 websites began contests to give away 100 tickets to the world premiere of the film in Los Angeles.

As of today, there are only 24 days left until March 23rd! And wow…do we have news for you!

In celebration of #HungerGames24, Lionsgate has announced 24 Advance Screenings presented by Nook by Barnes & Noble.

You can show your support for #HungerGames24 by visiting http://screenings.thehungergamesmovie.com/ and tweeting a unique hashtag assigned to your closest city to unlock Advance Screening locations (visit the site linked here click on your preferred city to get your unique hashtag). Starting March 1 (tomorrow!), the top four cities with the most Twitter volume will be announced each day and fans will then be able to enter to win tickets to those locations.

Here’s a list of the 24 cities that will each be hosting a Screening (cities in BOLD have been unlocked):
– Seattle, WA
– Portland, OR
– San Francisco, CA
San Diego, CA
– Salt Lake City, UT
– Phoenix, AZ
– Denver, CO
– Minneapolis, MN
– Kansas City, MO
– St. Louis, MO
– Chicago, IL

– Houston, TX
– Detroit, MI
– Cleveland, OH
– Cincinnati, OH

12 District Sponsors will each host two Advance Screenings and offer 24 fans the chance to win a pair of tickets (24 fans per location). You will not be able to purchase tickets to any of these Advance Screenings.

Please note:
– The Screenings are currently scheduled for March 21, 2012. Other info is TBA.
– The 24 cities have already been chosen (see above). You cannot campaign to bring an Advance Screening to your city if it isn’t on the list.
– Tweeting your city will help “unlock” it, allowing you to win tickets to that location.

Additionally, you can win tickets through Barnes & Noble. From Lionsgate’s official press release:

In addition, Barnes & Noble is giving NOOK fans in select cities the opportunity to gain exclusive access to see THE HUNGER GAMES before its official theatrical release. On March 10, while supplies last, the first customers to purchase any of Barnes & Noble’s award-winning NOOK devices – including NOOK Tablet™, NOOK Color™ or NOOK Simple Touch™ – at select Barnes & Noble stores will receive two complimentary tickets to the official Advance Screening on March 21. To locate participating Barnes & Noble stores, visit www.nook.com/hungergames.

Is it just for nook users??

No. As far as we can tell, there will be two different ways to win tickets. ONE way is by buying a Nook on March 10 at one of the locations listed at nook.com/hungergames.

When cities start getting “unlocked” (which fans are trying to do now by tweeting with their city’s hashtag), you’ll find out additional ways to win tickets.
