  • hey savanna, i just wanted to say thanks for recommending “united” on monday’s podcast! i have loved sam claflin in everything i’ve seen him in, which amounts to PotC4 and SWATH, but then both of those movies leave much to be desired. so i really wanted to find something where i could like both him AND the film overall, but i didn’t really know where to start. when you mentioned “united” during the podcast i figured why not give it a try– i’m a soccer fan and i happen to like manchester united, so at least it would be a chance to learn about a period of their history i knew nothing about– so i got a hold of it and watched it yesterday, and it was really very good.

i even feel like i saw a glimpse of finnick in sam’s character, especially at the beginning of the film (sort of that “honorary older brother to the newbies” feel to him, i get the same feeling with finnick). so yeah, thanks for mentioning that! 🙂

Yes!! I completely agree. I know the role isn’t THAT big, but I really thought he was phenomenal and you can totally see some shades of Finnick in the character. So glad you enjoyed it!
