11/30/12: Cool Stuff We Found This Week Friday 30 November, 2012
This week we definitely have a very “eclectic” mix of cool stuff for you guys!
First up is something that Crystal from Mockingjay.net showed us. We’re shocked that we hadn’t seen these before, and we’re willing to bet that you haven’t seen them either! There is, believe it or not, a collection of Hunger Games Lego figures for sale on Amazon.com right now. We’re not really sure what the story is behind them, since we haven’t seen them marketed by Lego at all. Anyway, they’re awesome to say the least, and we’re especially in love with Lego Seneca Crane, who you can see below. They also have three different Katniss figures, two Peetas, and a Haymitch (complete with liquor bottle).
Next is a series of stunning images taken by photographer Twig Capra for a Panem-themed shoot. Each photo represents a different character from the series. We’ve included her representation of Gale below — you’ll notice that there are 42 tally marks lining the model’s collarbone, symbolizing the 42 times that Gale’s name was put into the Reaping. Visit Twig Capra’s Flickr page to see the rest of the photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hannaheartless/sets/72157629304307732/
Lastly, we have another music video to share! Remember when Alicia Keys debuted her new song “Girl on Fire” and everybody was wondering whether or not the Hunger Games reference was intentional? Well, even though the song isn’t about Katniss, a lot of the lyrics remind us of her journey, so we were excited when we discovered that someone had used it as inspiration for a music video featuring clips from the movie. Great job, Emma Hutcherson!
