10/12/12: Cool Stuff We Found This Week Friday 12 October, 2012

First of all…

Happy birthday, Josh Hutcherson! 😀

Now, on to the cool stuff!

First up is one of the most creative pieces of Hunger Games-inspired merchandise we’ve ever seen. It’s a wall clock featuring the official district seals in place of numbers. How neat is that!? Tick-tock… ($18 at CafePress)

We know it’s a bit silly, but we’re suckers for Hunger Games montage videos set to pop music. “We Found Love” by Rihanna became a popular “theme song” of sorts for Katniss and Peeta last year, so it should come as no surprise that it’s now making its way into fan videos. This particular video was created by Luv4Horses295 and features the Sam Tsui cover of “We Found Love.” The editing is really fantastic and it may or may not have made us cry when we first watched it late last night… Oh, Peeta!

Next up is a graphic T-shirt that’s perfect for the Hunger Games fan who wants to make a statement! The shirt is plain white with red text displaying one of the most memorable quotes from the series. ($22 at CafePress)

Lastly, we have a video slideshow showcasing some of the best fan art you’ll probably ever see. All of it is centered around Katniss and Peeta, and you can tell that Manda Martinez really put a ton of thought into the pieces of art that she used. Some of our favorites are at :59, 1:55, 2:02, 2:15, and 3:43. We’re also pretty excited about the fact that she used a Matt Nathanson song (“Bulletproof Weeks”) to accompany the slideshow.
