9/7/12: Cool Stuff We Found This Week Friday 07 September, 2012

September’s here! Can you believe it? Remember when we all thought casting would be “finished” back in July? Oh, how naïve we were… At least we can ease our no-casting-news blues with some cool stuff!

Note: You can click all the images to purchase the items/see a larger version of what’s pictured.

First up are these absolutely gorgeous handmade nesting dolls from Rachel Anderson’s Etsy shop. This set — which includes Katniss, Peeta, Gale, Prim, and Rue — is $65.99. She also has a second set available featuring Katniss, Peeta, Cato, Clove, and Rue in their interview outfits.

Next, we found a really great beauty/nail blogger named Theodora who did a series of Hunger Games-inspired manicures for her blog. Her District 4 nail look is shown below! Be sure to check out the rest of her Hunger Games nail art series, which features looks inspired by District 3, District 5, District 7, District 12, the Capitol, Effie Trinket, and Caesar Flickerman!

If you’re a Potterhead, you’ll LOVE this next item that we found. This lightweight political pullover ($29 on Etsy) would make a great fashion statement as Election Day draws ever closer (for those of us in the USA, that is). Would you vote for Katniss and Hermione? The pullover pictured here is a size medium, but the EverdeenGranger Etsy shop offers other sizes as well as T-shirts (which are just $20)!

Lastly, we stumbled across this neat edit made by Tumblr user mockingfire. We love how she included so many of the new Catching Fire cast members and seamlessly inserted Jena Malone and Lynn Cohen into scenes with Caesar Flickerman. While it is somewhat depressing that we have to wait until November 2013 to see the film, images like this keep us excited!
