8/3/12: Cool Stuff We Found This Week Friday 03 August, 2012

Before we get into this week’s Cool Stuff, we just want to let everybody know that you’re always welcome to send us neat/interesting things that you find during the week. We might feature your discoveries here!

Our first cool find this week is this ADORABLE “Catnip” T-shirt. It was designed by Rachael Thomas, and you can buy it at Redbubble for $24.54.

As if one cute shirt wasn’t enough, we discovered this “PEETA-CEPTION” shirt thanks to Mockingjay.net’s “T-Shirt Tuesday” feature. You can get this one at Redbubble, too, and it features PEETA inside a PITA! Awww.

Lastly, we found a version of the Hunger Games that we might actually want to participate in! Texas A&M University Libraries and FutureLight Studios created a parody of The Hunger Games to serve as a guide to TAMU’s extensive library system. The Research Games features a group of college students who are assigned a research paper and must battle it out in order to get their hands on a copy of The Art of War. The parody features students and library staff from Texas A&M as well as the school’s judo coach! It’s really well done and incredibly creative. University students (past and present) will especially love it.

Since the dawn of this great university, first years from all colleges have been allowed to participate in a glorious test of their academic prowess: The Research Games. They either learn…or they die.
