Panelist of the Week: Theresa Tuesday 21 February, 2012
To help you all get to know our regular panelists a bit better, we’ll be spotlighting one (or two!) here each week!
This week, we’d like you to meet Theresa, an admin at Down with the Capitol with superhuman eyesight and a penchant for the Boy with the Bread. We all know Theresa loves The Hunger Games, but what does she like to do when she’s not cuddling up under a Peeta blanket and rereading Mockingjay for the 50th time? Read our Q&A with her and find out!
Which is your favorite book in the series?
Theresa: Mockingjay. It is so “real” and has probably affected me more than any book I’ve ever read.
What do your friends and family think of your Hunger Games obsession?
Theresa: That depends on who you ask. LOL Some are right there with me and excited about the books and film, others look at me as if I’m crazy.
Which district would you most like to live in?
Theresa: District 12, yes food was scarce at times, but the thumbnail of the Capitol was not always pressing down upon you.
Which Hunger Games character do you think you are most like?
Theresa: I’d say I’m a cross between Effie and Haymitch. In and out of control at the same time and also able to fuss about the minor details others might find trivial, yet still able to see the bigger picture.
Which two tributes (victors included) would you most want to ally with in the arena?
Theresa: As much as I love Peeta, I think I would want to ally myself with Katniss and Finnick. Rue or Haymitch would probably be my third choice.
If you could ask Suzanne Collins ONE question about the series, what would it be?
Theresa: This is so tough because I actual have two Hunger Games questions I’m dying to ask her:
1. What were the first Games like, and how did they evolve into what we see at the time of the 74th Hunger Games?
2. Are the people of Panem doomed to repeat their mistakes? In your mind, is another event like the Hunger Games inevitable?
But If I was cornered and had to ask just one, I’d lean more for the second.
What are some of your interests outside of The Hunger Games?
Theresa: Books, books and more books. Right up there with my Hunger Games obsession is my devotion to Harry Potter. I also love other series in the dystopian genre, such as Maze Runner, Blood Red Road, Matched, and more. If I had all the time in the world, the majority of it would be with my nose stuck to my Kindle.
